About 40 minutes south of Sandpoint, Farrgut is an historic former naval training station that is now one of the crown jewels of the Idaho state parks system. It’s located at the very scenic southern tip of Lake Pend Oreille – and just logically, summertime disc golf play should probably end up with a dip in that beautiful lake, right?
As for the golf itself, the park has five 18-hole disc golf courses for all skill levels. Four courses – Wreckreator, Northstar, A.W.O.L. and Cutthroat – offer a world class disc golfing experience. The Little Black Bear, an 18-hole putt-putt course, offers an encouraging and fun introduction to disc golf for beginners and those with children. If you forgot your discs at home, the park gift shop has a selection of golf discs.
